Sands Of Time

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Feb 25, 2006

The endings kinda bad because i started it at school and had to finish it at home, but meh. One of a few of my poems that actually rhyme! =)

The shadows in the back of my mind
Lost in the sands of time
An hour glass rotating eternally
Particles slipping through my fingers, lost for eternity
A train comes into view as I lay on the track
My heart pumping on top of the smoke stack
Beating faster and faster with every turn of the wheel
Leaving rips and tears that even time can not heal
The track is winding through a tunnel, headlights flashing
I close my eyes and listen as the tracks are crashing
The floorboards on the rail are creaking with every inch it gains
Every weekend, the same routine to let go of my pains
The rain falls down from the stars, drenching me as I lay crying
You look at me and assume everything is alright, but inside I am dieing
Painful memories weigh me down in everything that I do
The slashes deep inside still seep through
I go to the river, sit on a rock
A boat is tied around a post on the dock
There for years, slowly sinking down to the sandy bottom
No one ever noticing, a perfect scene of autumn
Half sunken in time, rusted and drawn
Every single day, from dusk till dawn
The hurt and anguish hanging over me
A depression cloud for all to see
I wear my heart on my sleeve, only to have it ripped away
I can never sleep, clothes all worn and frayed
Just leave me alone, let me move on with my life
Turn away and put down your knife
Every ones jagged knives digging deep into my scabbed back
Every one doing their work to break apart something once so intact
I see a car speeding down the free way, going straight as can be
He will not slow down in time, there is no way that he sees me
Horn blares, tires screech, man yells, I run.
The game that I find to be so much fun.
Same game, every day, playing chicken with the cars.
Keep on playing, never give up, even if people tell me that it will not get me very far
This game of life or death that I can never win no matter what I try
But in the end, I will spread my wings to fly
So judge me now for what you see
But just remember, you do not f u c k i n g know me
