That Spark

by Jon Hunt   Mar 19, 2006

Out of Reach, but I'm not reaching out.
Further and further away, but you're not moving.
And falling behind I'm losing grip,
As you fly away I let you slip.

I never had, or knew your love.
And maybe never shall, that's all too much.
To think that maybe it won't be,
So hard to believe, so easy to see.

And maybe once the spark was dull,
No leap of flame, the result was null.
But try again another match.
A quicker more intensive flash,
And leap the flames of love and life,
To light the fires of perseverance and strife.
For maybe now a candle glows,
But given time its strength, it grows,
To raging forest, burning bright,
Between us, emotions set alight.

Who said that love was dead and burnt,
All they knew where lies and hurt,
For neglect to see what could be better,
As life returns once ash has settle.

Eek, I loved this one also. I can't find a single flaw worth fixing. I have yet to criticize on any work I've read of yours. Your talent is pretty remarkable. Never stop writing. 5/5
