Stroke Of Midnight

by Kaylee   Mar 20, 2006

He taught me to love since I never learned how.
And he gave me his heart when I could not feel mine.
He longed to hold me at least he told me this.
Now I wonder if he even knows what he missed.

He taught me to never lose myself in the world.
And he knew the words to say when I was afraid.
He had everything needed to make me fall in love.
I wonder if he even knows just how close I was.

He even told me that we might just be meant to be.
And he gave me a nickname that I would forever keep.
But you know this Cinderella must retreat at midnight.
With the stroke of the clock, he disappeared from sight.

He taught me to love when I didn’t know how.
Now my love shines on another who deserves it more.
He had my heart at one time but then he let it go.
What he might have missed, I think God only knows.
