Runaway train

Here we sit,
Here we think
Of times past
Of things that once were
Things which will never be again,
Life passes us by
As an unstoppable force.
A run away train,
A train that cannot be stopped
Speeding down the tracks
No one knows where they lead
Or how long the journey will take.

The train speeds on
Cannot be stopped
Its route cannot be altered
And where it has been not erased
Speeding toward our final destiny,
Speeding though time,
Cannot alter the path we must take
Cannot prevent future pain
Cannot forget the past
Forget where we have been
All we have seen
All the torment and pain.

No choices left,
No way to alter our destiny
Only one choice to make
To stay or leave the train,
Stay and face more of the past,
More torture,
Sorrow,
And pain,
Or get off this run away train,
To leave it all behind,
Into the unknown,
End suffering.

The sole choice,
Between the train and the tracks,
Continue in this existence,
Or leave it all behind,
To live on here,
Or to die.

    That's a very true poem. Or at least I say it is. I really enjoyed it and I thought it was good. However...I thought this last Stanza was the best.
    "The sole choice,
    Between the train and the tracks,
    Continue in this existence,
    Or leave it all behind,
    To live on here,
    Or to die. "

    Another strong ending to the poem, i havent come across a poem that talks about life like this. very unique.

    Wow, you did an unbelievable job explaining this and creating the amount of imagery in the space provieded. Brilliantly penned. And thanx for ur comment on my poem, it meant a lot, i didn't quite like the flow, but glad you did. Keep up the good work 5/5 :)

    Such a unique poem! It really makes me want to start thinking over where I'm going in life! I printed it out and it's actually taped to my wall of faverote poems! Speaking of faverotes you made ym faverotes list :) lol
