Shall We? (Society, Welcome the Monsters You Created)

by Kenshin   Apr 20, 2006

Welcome the monsters you created,
Hidden within us, they feed on innocence,
Confusing lust with love,
Where is the law when you need it?

Fear of allowing my child to walk the street,
My eyes, I cannot bear to see anymore,
Are these the elite of the community,
Shall we force ourselves to explain things to our children?

Shall we explain to our children,
That there are monsters out their,
To come and take away their innocence,
Under the notion of love?

Shall we force others to accept,
That what they think is a good thing,
Is nothing but a disease that must be cured?
And teach our children to carry guns with them.

Shall we teach our children to carry weapons with them?
To protect themselves from anyone who might be a threat.
Or do we form a war within our own family,
For fear of one being a monster in disguise.

Society, welcome the monsters you have created,
With simple tools that should be put for better use,
And you say that I am the worse,
I discovered there are far worse than me.

These predators of innocence,
Confusing lust with love,
Safely labeling them as criminals,
And ones I'm more afraid off than the drug addicts out their.

Some 'elite' people,
Hidden sickening desires,
Will you do something about them?
Or will you welcome them with open arms?

*A simple note of sarcasim in the title... I'm explaining this becuase I do not want anyone to think I'm either encouraging or even enjoying the things that I just read, which by the way, I still cannot believe it, but then again, nothing in this world is impossible, and just when I thought the world couldn't get any worse, it did... so again, the title is a simple note of sarcasim and so is the first stanza, or rather the phrase "welcome the monsters you have created" the sarcasim is in "welcome"*
