The Sad Maiden

by Kenshin   May 2, 2006

Sitting at the edge of the lake,
Her body as made out of water,
The most beautiful maiden your eyes can se,
Cries everyday by the lake.

She tells me the story,
Of a girl long time ago,
No heart as pure as hers,
Betrayed by this cruel world.

I ask her about her world,
Why is so always sad,
She tells me about a girl,
By the world she helped rebuild

From destruction she rebuilt this world,
Always giving up all she has for it to grow,
But greediness and harshness of the world,
Made her a victim of her own beautiful work

She was always the helper,
Server and protector,
Now she lies at the edge of the lake,
The sad maiden cries

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS POEM!! And thats an understatement... this poem just makes me want to read, and read, and read, cry, drink water, and read lots more.. Don't ask me why, because I'm not completely sure why, but be sure to take it as a compliment =)
Amazing poem, my friend. Keep on writing!
