Voices in the Night

by The Queen of Spades   May 8, 2006

The dusk brings wet frost
and during the chilled night
I hold tightly
To my deathly sheets
Only becoming colder
But a voice beckons me
Clothing me
Embracing me
In a warmth to the most perfect degree
Solitude, in the darkness,
But not loneliness
I close my eyes
My pink, warmed lips curved upwards
Succumbing to the abyss
In the glow of black hours
Then when my eyes open
Dawn has brought frosty dew
Day has produced unforgotten lyrics
That I still taste in my mouth
Remembering these lines
My lips have turned a plae blue
Yet are still warm

A really interesting write, a very abstract idea beautifully brought to life...Really enjoyed reading this, it had me captivated all the way through. I only wish it was longer! =) 5/5 x
