X Single And Free

by Sole   May 11, 2006

Single and Free, what we had is now gone
Deceased forever I'm glad, I'm great
In this life, you have never belonged
Now I'm enthralled by the path of fate

You hurt me deep down, tore me inside
So I took what we had, threw it away
Carelessly you cheated, worse, you lied
Thought that I would beg you to stay

I hated your being, your low down sins
Now you've paid for the damage in my heart
And this is where my revenge begins
Because I loved you, right from the start

I burnt your clothes, watched you beg and cry
Trashed your flat and threw away your key
Put on a face and waved you forever goodbye
But deep down, I just want you back here with me

    "payed" should be "paid".

I like how real this is. When you leave someone not because you want to NOW but because you know later it'll have been the better/healthier thing to do. I think you portrayed this exceptionally well in a short poem.

Aww... I know the feeling, when you know you shouldn't take the person back, yet you know you want to..
