Two Truths

by Melissa S. Masucci   May 23, 2006

I've made mistakes, a handful at a time.
And Lord knows I'll make hundreds more.

I've dated cheaters and alcholics,
I made horrible decisions just to fit in.

I've been caught in a public place
doing something I'd rather not remember again.

I've been naive in situations I needed strength,
and it's changed my entire life.

In relationships, I've done so much wrong.
I've lied, I've cried,
I've held on long after I should have given up.

But no matter what mistakes I might make,
you can trust me to not do two things;
two things I have never done and will never do.

I don't cheat - I will be faithful forever.
And my mouth... my heart... will never say
the words "I love you" and not mean it.

I can't always be relied upon
to have the answers and make the right decisions.
I can't even guarantee I'll be consistent.

But I can promise that I will love you,
unconditionally and completely.

Aww I like this... It was also sweet [though not exactly to the point XD]. I'm glad there are still some good heart filled people out there...ones that won't cheat or say I love you without meaning it. I won't say I love you, but I have cheated, though I will never do so again. I'm ashamed of what I did and promise never to do it again...

    Take care.

This is wonderful! I love it so so much! Everything you said here was just perfect! We all make mistakes, but we learn from them. And that helps us to grow stronger. Marvelous!

Very good! - something everyone can relate or aspire to. I like your free style from traditional rhyme. And many thx for feedback on mine, especially for noting my twist on words to change the entire message in Time Heels All Wounds. Cheers, and good writing - DM

I don't know anybody who hasn't made mistakes. For some reason the old line of 'honor among thieves' came to mind while I was reading this.
