I Will Always Remember You..

As I sat there that day
All my fears were on the mind
The words I needed to say
Sat on the tip of my tongue..

I looked at you lovingly and told you
That I had something to say
You asked me what
But I just couldn't speak..

I wrote it down slowly
And when your eyes crossed the paper
And saw the words
Scattered there
You gasped..

The tears and the pain filled my eyes
I tried not to let it show..
I put on a happy face,
To show you
That I wasn't scared..
But inside
My heart was screaming..

You were in shock
And so was I..
You were the friend
That I couldn't lose..
I just wanted to die..

My life was here
With all of you
My friends, my sisters..
And I couldn't imagine it
Any other way..

My heart split in two
A million times that day
As again and again
I had to say good bye

But what I really couldn't stand
Was the moment
I saw tears in your hazel eyes
And the smile
From your sweet face
Just fade away..

I could not stand it
A moment more
I grasped your arm
And took you somewhere safe
Away from the prying eyes
Of other people..

We sat together while you cried
Talking and being interrupted
Every now and again
By other friends..

I saw you cry
Just this once..
And the smile from my face
Evaporated into thin air
The sparkle of my eyes
Disintegrated in a fire
And my heart
Started to howl..

Oh, how I am going to miss you so..
Your big smile
And the caring shoulder
Always there for me to cry on..
Your funny jokes
And your sarcastic remarks..
I am even going to miss
Those yelling sessions
You would give me..

I am going to miss
Everything about you..
Every good thing
And bad..
And just so you know,
I will never ever forget you..
And you have been the best friend
Anyone could ever ask for..
