Two voices

by Melissa   Jun 23, 2006

I have two voices...

One tongues of fashion,
horoscopes, and sexuality
always pretending fairy-tales are reality
and reality is the newest fantasy
tarot cards predict my mortality,
still death is a mysterious dream
that my own pathetic utterances cannot escape

But hey, I'm just a naughty magazine dressed for life
a sleepy headed yoga class that forgot to relax

The other whispers of love,
intimacy, and wild haired secrets
and I need you to listen close, dear
my weary soul undresses here
there's a hard headed wall you can't see over,
but I fear myself for those bricks
and I'm afraid the concrete hardened my heart

But hey, I'm just a misplaced poem never found,
a girl still learning mishaps are sometimes allowed

How do you do it? I adore this poem. The way you break your feelings down always leaves me in awe.

    These lines absolutely rock:

"a sleepy headed yoga class that forgot to relax"

"But hey, I'm just a misplaced poem never found,
a girl still learning mishaps are sometimes allowed"

Truly outstanding. Take care and keep it up~Holly

Wow, this was a very well done poem with a cool message and a brilliant set up. It is funny how we have multi-personalities sometimes, or even when out desire and our common sense colide with one another. Or our past experiences conflict with our future wants and hopes and dreams. I really liked this poem.

"but I fear myself for those bricks
and I'm afraid the concrete hardened my heart"

This section right here, wow, that was very powerful. It made the internal conflict work really well. A nice poem hun!
