You did it mum

by johnnys_princess   Jun 23, 2006

I remember the the awful day you sat us on your knee,
i remember thinking one of us is in trouble don't let it be me.

Daddy's left us for good he wont be around,
thats when i stumbled and fell to the ground.

I lay there crying hysterically unable to stop,
it took hours until i felt the very last tear drop.

We talked all night about what our lives would now be like,
My brother wanted to know, at Christmas would he still get his bike?

I asked did daddy leave because we were bad,
and would we all stop feeling so sad.

You explained it wasn't our fault, it was daddy's choice to leave
things would be OK we just had to believe.

So we went on and you struggled at raising us alone,
but our house after that day became a happy home.

You made us have so much fun, and never tired of playing hide and seek,
always putting us to bed with a story and kiss on the cheek.

I'm so proud of you mum, what a great job you did,
i remember being such a happy kid.

Your courage, strength, selflessness and independence i admire,
My love for you will never ever transpire.
