Another Step Forward

by *colorsofmylife*   Jun 27, 2006

Another night has come and gone,
Before the shadows are laid upon my soul,
Cast by the darkest of rain clouds,
Drowning me in my own thoughts.
Enhancing all the pain this life is in,
Fear will eventually get the best of it all,
Grasping my heart; never letting go.
Harmonizing in my own songs,
Is never enough to earase it all.
Just one more day to get through; I say,
Keeps me going when things get rough,
Like a motivational speaker; only inside my head.
Many times I doubt myself,
Nightfall comes sooner than before,
Only making things harder.
Pressing forward; I must live on,
Quiting will never get me anywhere.
Resisting the urges of negativity,
Saving myself from the emotions,
Turns out to be sweeter than ever imagined.
Uniting myself with that light again,
Venturing into the great unknown,
Will only make me that much stronger.
Xing out my past; staying in the right direction,
Yearning to learn more for the future,
Zero hurt, zero wounds; a new begining, a fresh start...

Well done. It's always good to look foward instead of back. Not very many people live life that way.

That was a very good 'alphabet' write. Actually, one of the best I've seen on this site. Not many people have the creative minds to write a poem like this, so kudos to you. It's so hard to write a poem when you have guide lines. I usually like poems to be free, but still, it's fun to try other stuff.

The flow in this poem was pretty good. It never seemed forced. Awesome stuff!
