Resurfacing

by Melissa S. Masucci   Jul 15, 2006

Why do you appear
at the least convienent moment
you make everything complicated
I question every decision
every time you resurface

Perhaps this time
will be the last time
the time when you'll stay
when you'll stay for me, for us
and give me the opportunity
that I've wanted for years

Perhaps this time
you know what you want
you consider someone else's feelings
along with your own
and when you say you love me
this time, you mean it

Why do you appear
only to disappear again
you break my heart and confidence
every time, you shatter my stability
and it's all for show

You're never really there,
no matter how hard I try.

[This is a re-write. I changed the end, I like it a lot better this way.]

I really liked the message more than anything because it was so clear. I thought the insight of the advice was wonderful.
