Confessions of a Sleepless Heart

by Melissa S. Masucci   Jul 15, 2006

Fantastic confusion
Magnificent headache
Save me from the agony of this decision
Bring ease to my life, for as simple as it may be, it is mine
And sometimes living life one day at a time isn't enough

Glorified slumber
Wretched disease
Wondering keeps me awake at night
I've fallen ill of your madness, my emotions in shambles
Give me simplicity but not without blood, sweat and tears

Grant me my desires, but make it mutual
Make it real
Make it worth it
Play host to my hopes and dreams
Be the dream maker than helps me see them through

Beating heart
Deafening silence
All I can think about is you
Nothing is simple, and nothing good comes easily
But give me a chance today, that's all that I ask of you

[A bit of a rewrite to an old poem.]

    Excellent first stanza, wonderfully worded.
    Great poem throughout.

  • I thought this was good too, The flow was a little off, but that doesn't really matter all that much. The emotions in this piece were great. I loved it. It kept my attention from start to finish. A wonderful write. Keep it up. && Thank you for your kind words on my poems. =) 5/5

I don't think this is supposed to be nature... -Looks around- I have a bit of a headache though. I'm not sure if I read it correctly...

Nontheless you have a great talent for writing. Keep it up.
