Fond memories

The time was wrong
the circumstances a bust
but giving it a try
was definitely a must

There were few hugs
few loving embraces
but not for lack of caring
lack of seeing the right faces

It seems it may be over
too soon, it's sad
but that short time with you
was the happiest I've had

Everything went wrong
as everything will
but I was in love with you then
and I'm loving you still
