Shes Not Herself

You can tell her
what you think she wants to hear
you can give her all the compliments in the world
you can say shes beautiful
& everything in between
but in her mind your just lying
& simply saying things
you don't really mean

She cant get past what she sees
her eyes point out the flaws
& her mirror lashes out with vicious claws
she continues to reach for an unreachable perfection
she could care less about herself
she simply wants to be someone else

Her wants, her needs, her thoughts
they all don't really matter
the voices tell her another story
they say that your truly lying
as the ones she needed the most start to scatter

Without them,
all she has left are her tormenting thoughts
the voices in her head
are starting to take over
everything they once thought
has been pushed far below her

The person she once was
is nothing but a blur
behind her tear filled eyes
nothing no longer seems clear
she lost herself somehow
she became her own worst nightmare..
