Young Heart

by *Charisma*   Sep 7, 2006

Still too young to give my heart
Though it desires to be taken
I must lead it as though by chain
For lust for love it has mistaken

It quickly smiles at any boy
Ready to beat fast and hard
It's then I place it under arrest
And put it behind steel bars

As soon as it's released
It quickly wanders away
I then must chase it down
And with it always stay

Like a guard with a prisoner
I watch it as if a hawk
I know that with any stranger
It desires to take a walk

And in a few years I'll release it
When it's older and wise
When it's not distracted by looks
Or catchy lines by romantic guys

But right now it is a captive
Because with such ease it soars
And there it will stay 'till the right time
It can be released out of doors
