I Would Rather Be Me

by RainbowSlider   Sep 23, 2006

I would rather be me;
happy, joyous and free
with my friends about
than in my past without.
All that I have suffered
has now been buffered.
The loneliness is all gone.
Each day I greet the dawn.
Your love covers whole
as Autumn leaves blow
and the winds caress
all of my emptiness.
I feel so alive in peace.
My heart is at ease.
I feel sweet serenity.
I would rather be me.

    I really enjoy your poems, but i have one suggestion. Sometimes it seems your rhymes are a little forced. For instance, they rhyme perfectly but it can come out a little funny like buffered and suffered. It is a great poem, 5/5 but that just sounded a little forced to me. Hope you don't take this personally just to help you grow as a poet cuz I thought it was great! Jpoet*
