For That One Guy

How could you leave me that way.
(A broken heart and tears streaming down my face).
You just didn\'t seem to care what you were doing to me.
So happy to see me in pain,
You just walked away without saying a simple â??goodbye.â??

As you walked off,
You thought,
How you ever loved me,
And I thought the same.
Why did I ever give my heart to you?
All you ever did was fill it up with hopes and dreams,
Then shatter it into pieces,
Throwing me into despair.

While I was alone,
In a cold, dark corner,
Crying myself to sleep,
You were out hanging with the guys,
Acting like nothing happened.

Now it has been months since the slip up,
But the tension is still there,
And the silence remains.

We have both moved on,
In search for better lives,
Knowing soon it will get better,
(Maybe it already has),

But I still miss the fun we used to share,
And those secrets whispered in my ear.
Holding me tightly.
And never letting me go.

Don\'t say I still love you,
Because I don\'t.
I just want things to be like they were before.
You and me together as friends...
Always supporting each other,
And making each other smile.

I know this will never happen again,
Because of the way it was when we were friends,
But a simple â??Hello,â??
In the halls wouldn\'t hurt,
And would let me know that you still care...

Break-ups are the worst, but this poem was very well written. I really liked the flow and the way it was structured. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like an ouchy breakup. those are the worst. best to find a super guy who'll never hurt you like that, though, then to go back to being friends with someone who did.
    great poem,
