Game of Life and Love

by *Charisma*   Nov 10, 2006

Rumors and whispers surround our company.
They fly like the wind on a breezy day.
Together, we deny every one of them.
But I wonder if we're lying, when it we say.

It's hard to stand here and say we are friends,
When I know my heart wants so much more.
And then to say we are nothing else but that,
Is hard to swallow, harder to ignore.

I'm left to wonder if you are laying out words,
To disguise what you are feeling for me.
And if when the time comes down the road,
We will be more than friends and company.

Right now, we are stuck in this game of life.
We roll the dice, spin the wheel, and drive.
One day I hope to control those dots,
And move next to you, where I feel alive.

But right now, I'm not the one rolling them.
And the other player can't let me go so soon
See, I've been his little girl for so long now,
And he needs me for a while before I go to you.
