The Path

A follower just walks the path
that has been walked before
a guest is someone who follows them
then leaves to follow more

a dreamer has their own sole steps
-- sometimes the roughest land
and though the path's yet to be made
nobody says it can't

the leader has a vibrant soul
who follows and is followed
they walk the path that has been walked
they lead the young and old

and leaders can be teaching
how to take each tiny step
how to swim inside the pool
while never getting wet...

but dreamers are the best of all
the ones who trek unbeaten paths
the dreamers make a beaten one
the others follow that

the dreamers; creative, eccentric, odd
-- they make the world go 'round
for if we had no dreamers
there'd be no path to go down
