Your Need...

Why did I believe every word you said knowing that you said them because you thought it was what I'd like to hear...

Why did I pretend that every sweet thing you told me you really meant it when I know you were only lying...

Why did I think that everything would go back to the way things were when I know if you hurt me once, you'd only hurt me again...

But why did I always end up taking you back knowing that you would only leave me heartbroken as you did once before...

Maybe because when you were alone I was there for you. When you had no one to talk to, I was willing to listen. When you had no one else to turn to, you always ended up turning to me...

So it wasn't me needing to stay with you. It was me wanting to stay with you. But in the end, we both knew that you were the one who needed me all along...

    WOW! I loved this, maybe it was because i can relate to this so much. I can really see the emotion you put into this, but I didn't find the lines were very poetic, only because they seemed to wordy. I did really like this line though:

    "Why did I think that everything would go back to the way things were when I know if you hurt me once, you'd only hurt me again..."

    I can definately relate to every word.
