A Rainy Day

by The Queen of Spades   Jan 17, 2007

The tears stream down the windows
An opening for the soul
Grass is stained with moisture
Icy to the touch, so cold

A gray sky stretches overhead
Bitter, lifeless, but beautiful
Its vital power overwhelms
It kills, but makes life fruitful

A rainy day may seem so bleak
But its darkness exudes such wonder
The hail, the snow, the wind cannot compare
Neither can the lightening nor the thunder

It's gorgeous and makes me shiver
This rain pouring down my face
And when the colors in the sky indicate its over
I long once more for a rainy day
