The Rose Has Died

by x.Athame.x   Jan 20, 2007

Pictures hang on the wall
And I hear memory's call
Rain is on the window sill
Tears are in my eyes still

The rose you gave has died
Now I see that you lied
Red has now turned to black
You aren't ever coming back

The bottle of whiskey you gave
Is what'll take me to the grave
From my eyes, whiskey tears
I think back over the years

All the possibilites are gone
How can it be? This is so wrong.
You were taken far too soon
Leaving me to cry 'neath the moon

Night is coming, and I will sleep
Through the night I will weep
Tears for the one who I adore
When morning comes I'll be no more
