Is anybody there? does anybody care?

by Independence Forever   Feb 3, 2007

So close i can reach it
my goal i can't just sit

i run the edge to reach my end
there is nothing anyone else can comprehend

i see Independence for one and all
yet you see nothing but a large towering wall

no one has the courage to stand their ground
evil men creep on us with a soft sound

i see the blood and the tears of great men
who would like nothing better than to risk it at the lion's den

men march foreword to their deaths but not for me
that much is a comfort for my woe would ever be

they die for our ideals of freedom for all
where are all the good politicians of old, will anybody call?

i see fireworks, cannons firing, guns and flags
but most people see nothing but boasts and brags

does anybody see what i see?
will anybody be where i be?

maybe it is not bought
but if it is then it is all naught

there was once a patriotic dream
but all seems torn at the seam

it started with Adams, Franklin, and Jefferson too
there is nothing left it seems, no more true blue

do i see what Washington saw
we must choose precedence over Hippocratic law

saw goodbye to the spirit of 1776s flame
where did it go? and who is to blame?
