Wish, yearn, long, pray, act.

by e LIZ a beth   Feb 6, 2007

Wish,
You could run away,
Stop questions, listen
To no one, ignore
Love.

Yearn,
To block out sound,
Block out hatred, block
Out life, block out
Those who question

Long,
To find yourself,
To find truth, to
Find comfort,
To find meaning

Pray,
You could somehow stop
Hate, stop hurt,
stop the past,
stop voices.

Act,
On your own impulse,
And end the one thing
That causes you, to wish,
Yearn, long, pray, and act.

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. I must say that it is one of my favorites of yours because of how everything came together in the end.

The only thing I would have to say, is that I cannot understand why Love is on its own line. It is not one of the words that you used to begin your stanzas with, so I felt that it was inappropriately put as such.

    otherwise. the poem was grand!

    * this was an intersting poem. Very different than anything that I've ever read before on this site. The one word at the beginning of each stanza sends a very powerful message. I liked the set up the only thing I wasn't to fond of was the ending, kinda threw me off. Nice work though
