Small towns

by Independence Forever   Feb 13, 2007

When you feel the urge to leave the big city blues
feel free to enter a small town, for a good cafe brew

in small towns everyone knows you and your name
once you enter a small town, you're never the same

people are friendlier and have a way of life
of course there aren't many choices for a wife

you're guaranteed a job in this little old town
but if you are sad then they know why you frown

the small town has a healing effect, but not for most
so if you feel the urge to leave then find a big city host

i salute the noble people, the die hard small town folk
for in big cities, you're here in a flash, gone like smoke

i live in a decent sized city but when i get tired of it i go to a small town, i guess i enjoy a break from all the rush

what an interesting write... I think I'll always be a city girl. I've always enjoyed places like Chicago and maybe someday make it to NYC.
