Some Things Just Can't Be Changed

by Dawn Manna   Feb 25, 2007

I remember the way it used to be
When we were both in love and so carefree
We made love all night and slept all day
One kiss from you took my blues away

Something changed in the blink of an eye
When you held my hand and we said goodbye
There was no looking back and no regrets
But too many words were left unsaid
And though I try I just cant forget

The way you smiled when you looked at me
The warmth in your touch as you held me tight
The way you always knew when something was wrong
Your smile, touch, kiss and embrace
I know I shouldn't still love you
But some things just can't be changed

I think of you when I'm out with him
Remembering the way you loved me back then
The things we did, the words we said
Like an old fashioned movie they run through my head
And though I try I just can't forget

The way you smiled when you looked at me
The warmth in your touch as you held me tight
The way you always knew when something was wrong
Your smile, touch, kiss and embrace
I know I shouldn't still love you
But some things just can't be changed

Ok poem, but it seems that it is too forced. It would flow better were the second line a sylable shorter. The over all meaning is well expressed, and i think it was a good but unoriginal topic.
    Good job

Mmm i noticed too that the rhyming was funny. . . Its not that it was wrong but you knida got into a rhythm and then it changed. .
This poem is obviously packed with emotions and thats how they are supposed to be so screw the rhyming. . .
Lovely overall i enjoyed the read

The rhyming was a liittle off, unless you meant it to be that way, but it was a nice poem. Good flow. 5/5
