Healing Heart

by *Charisma*   Mar 30, 2007

Restoring a heart once shattered and hurt
Cared and coddled, then tossed in the dirt.
You picked it up and blew off the dust
Rebuilt understanding, compassion and trust.
You removed the pieces of it's last owner
The man who made it feel like a loner
But now with you, it's starting to heal
Moving past broken, and desiring to feel
Holding onto your hand, reading your soul
Finding pieces of you to make it whole
You were the answer to fixing the pain
To keep it from drowning in it's own rain
Every reason it had to quit and walk away
Was defeated by you because you stayed.
Without your love to share with this heart
I could still be in the rain, falling apart.
That's how I know, you and I will always be
Together in love, for an eternity.
