A fair even vow to my love

by aisyned   Apr 4, 2007

When i took that razor blade,
i thought about me and you,
i thought about the knife,
and how i said we were though,

as the blade slit through my skin,
as is said I'm doing this for him and him alone,
i thought I'd erase your hurt,
and melt my heart of stone,

i thought I'd get rid of the pain,
rid of the memory of our fight,
but after i was done slitting,
i didn't feel alright,

i knew you wouldn't be proud,
you'd be disappointed in me,
i knew you'd think i was crazy,
if the cuts i let you see,

but the only thing you did,
the only thing you said,
I'll give you another chance,
if you promise not to cut again,

as i look at the scars,
i remember what i did and know it was wrong,
i knew i should have told you I'm sorry,
i shouldn't have avoiding you so long,

but in this poem contains a vow,
saying i shall never cut again,
if you forever love me,
and let me in on things unsaid,

let me be a part of your world,
let me soak up your rain,
tell me i can be your girl,
let me erase yours pain,

i promise i won't take to a blade,
i won't cut my skin,
i won't let my blood run out,
if at our love we take another spin,

if you tell me you forgive me,
tell me it's okay to cry,
you'll be right there,
till the day that i die,

that'll you'll never leave,
even when i say go,
if i ever say i want to commit suicide,
promise you won't say so,

my vow is that if you promise,
promise me you'll love me and care,
i won't ever touch that blade to my wrist,
as long as you stay here,

instead of a ring,
just give me your heart,
give me one more change,
let me make a new start,

i won't tell you to go,
if you ask me to me yours again,
and if you plan to leave,
so i can buy a razor tell me when,

you can't break the vow,
if i don't break it before you,
but that won't happen,
that i won't do,

say you'll be here,
to keep me standing tall,
if i don't go to the razor,
say you won't let me fall,

today I'm offering you a vow,
not a wedding but one of love,
one saying that you'll always love me,
even when i leave for heaven above,

and if you break this vow,
i will turn back to that razor i hate so much,
i don't want to go back,
i don't want to feel it's cold touch,

but you must promise not to go,
even if i tell you so,
don't leave me all alone,
promise me you'll never go,

so no matter what takes,
now matter how,
agree and i shall,
to this fair even vow...................
