Nights We Cannot Escape

by The Queen of Spades   Apr 12, 2007

I recall that fateful night
Every time I look at you
The thoughts never ceased
Though I deemed that we were through

Your skin, pale and glistening
Damp with perspiration
Matched my body, my excitement
In hot anticipation

How the memory still stands
Every detail, even small
Your hands pressing my arms
Hard, back against the wall

And the shine on our bodies
In the glow of the moonlight
The way you fit inside me
The sense of being right

Then now, many days after
Reminiscence slips away
I wonder if you still think about
What happend that sweet day

But one look in your eyes
And its obvious you do
Here begins my infatuation
Being enamored so by you

You're truly skilled to be able to write such a good poem with such a simple rhyme scheme. I love the second stanza best, it has much class.

    {5/5}

I thought this was very nicely written and the vocab and rhyming was original...very well done.
I think the last line of the last stanza kindof threw me off...cause it seemed a bit out of rythm...but then again..i dont know how you read it in ur head so i shouldnt judge that...
otherwise...i thought it was very professionally done and i loved it:)
