Struggle

I try to keep going, I try to keep breathing,
I try to stay positive and think happy thoughts,
but my wishes of happiness could never come true
- I've fallen in too deep: so harshly I've been caught.

My breath is snatched from within my mouth,
I blink with my eyes, but they're dry of tears.
I think my usual thoughts, feel my usual feelings
My overwhelmed heart is drowned by my fears...

    I really liked these two short stanzas. They flowed nicely. loved how the lines were written long. Well done with this. Its a great poem.~mel
