The World Fell And You Weren't There

by *Charisma*   Apr 27, 2007

The walls were caving in around me
While pillars in my heart did fall
I screamed out for you to catch me
No response came to my call

When the oceans overtook me
I was gasping for each single breath
I reached up for your hand
It wasn't there while I faced death.

I spent nights crying endlessly
Praying that I'd see you the next day.
I showed up but you never did
Keeping up with your no-show ways.

Then came the final straw in my life
An accident you couldn't see coming.
In a hospital bed I had to lay
But you never did come running.

It was then I knew for sure
You didn't love me, you didn't care.
Time after time of heartache,
The world fell and you weren't there.

    I really liked this,
I liked the screen name when I first seen it,
and this poem is amazing, I must say.
You described everything so well without going off track
and kept to the same story,
the ending wrapped it up perfectly.
    All in all, great write.

Absolutly flawless flow... simple words but still the emotion comes acorss with strength... wonderful ways of describing how you feel... all the metaphors.. from the wall to the oceans .. those were beautiful stanzas and the last stanza ending perfectly... so simple and just BOOM lol it hits... a very enjoyable read.. great work :D
