The bridge

He sat on the bridge top,
and started at the starry night,
he remembered that night,
he had first saw her cry,
she swore that she'd end it,
tahst when he first new,
that there was more to them,
than friends so he said i love you,

he remembered the summers,
on the bridged the days and nights,
thats were they first kissed ,
thats were they had fights.
he laughed very suddenly ,
cuz back then they were 16,
10 years had passed by,
things had come and been.
and he started to cry ,
as he stared at the wall,
the old graffitti of there names,
circled in a heart thats all.

she was at home now,
he'd left without a goodbye,
didn't say anything to his son,
didn't wanna make him cry.
and he sat on the bridge,
until the sun started to raise,
and the sight that fell before him,
brought more tears to his eyes.

of rows upon rows of flowers,
teddies and candles too,
and photos of his preciuos girl,
with the words we'll miss you.
along the motorway,
the tributes still lay there,
and as tears fell from his eyes,
he said this silent prayer.

"Dear God,
Please just hear me,
i wish she was still alive,
how can someone be so stupid,
and even think to drink and drive.

    Ok....first off....never give up on writing! you are truely amazing. your style is your own and i love it. second....thank you very much for the comment you left on "What is Sadness?" that was a very special poem to me. i wrote it in a time of darkness and despair. It turned out nicely if i say so myself. Third.....this poem was brilliant. In the last parts of the poem i felt that he was a ghost and was reminiscing of the old days when he was still alive. But its the girl that dies. Good effect. Nicely done. It's pittiful what a selfish breed we are. Caring only about our own fix and not caring about others lives. It's selfish. Great poem though and i hope to read more from you soon :)

    This poem had such an impact on me. It made me cry! I never knew anyone who was killed in a drunk driving crash but by reading this poem, it was like I was the boy missing his girl. It was so beautiful and so powerful. The emotions were radiating from the words. Amazing Job! 5/5
