We Wanted

All I wanted was to love him,
And in return acquire his amorous sensitivity,
His kindhearted touch,
His smile,
I wanted his all.

I wanted to be loved,
To be esteemed as an extraordinary jewel,
To be positioned on his high cloud,
To be his queen,
I wanted to be his everything.

He wanted me,
And nothing else.
He wanted to exploit me,
To make me into his marionette
He wanted... my body.

He wanted my essence,
He desired to steal my pride,
My principles,
My goals and everything I stood for,
He wanted to destroy me.

But God wanted me,
He had a plan for my existence,
To use me for his will,
To proclaim his words,
He wanted to save me from annihilation.

And that he did.
