Perfect Match

She screams
at the top of her lungs,
towards her parents.

They do the only thing
that they can think of,
making only one phone call.

Then five minutes later
he appears,
out of breath.

He associates quickly
confirming which way she headed,
their secret place.

As she finishes the short walk
and starts to lay down,
she can faintly hear him.

She stares up at the big sky
wondering if anyone else is doing the same,
some place far away.

He runs the short walk
like its nothing,
dodging any familiar obstacles.

When he gets close
he slows his pace,
while saying something to her.

He joins her on the grass
placing his jacket over her,
and also slipping his arm around her.

She shifts quickly
moving her head to his chest,
and her arm around his stomach.

He asked her what happened
with her and her parents,
Silently trying to teach her to cope.

She told him everything
that had been said,
right down to the end.

He kissed her on the head
and whispered everything will be ok,
We'll get through this.

It was that exact second
that they both realized,
they would be together forever.

Forever together they were
but through all the hard things,
they would go to their secret place and do what they did as teens.
