My box of memories

by ali   Aug 15, 2007

They say everything tells a story
Well in this case it's true

That curled up petal is from the first rose you gave me
You were sweeter then
That photo shows us smiling
One of us was lying
That teddy bear says 'I love you'
Shame you never meant it too
The perfume I wore the last time you kissed me
Lies in its box
Cap firmly on, I'll never wear it again
It reminds me of how easily you lied as you held me
You never loved me

That box in the corner
Is where my heart lies
Protected
From you...

I like how you start off saying the box holds the memories, but then, it's like all those memories are pieces of your heart, and the box really keeps your heart protected. It was a neat twist to the piece and I really really liked it!
