Losing You

by Jodie Phillips   Jan 15, 2008

The day that we were told
There's no more they can do,
Our world's fell apart,
Knowing we were going to lose you.

Everyone came up to see you
You lied peacefully in your bed,
Trying to hide our tear's from you,
Trying to understand it in our heads.

October 26th
The day the Heaven's called your name,
Leaving everyone facing life
Without seeing your beautiful face again.

Now your are no longer in pain
It brings us comfort in knowing this,
But to see your smiling face once again,
Is the top of everyone's wish list.

Even though you are not here in person
You will never be truly gone,
As everyone that knew and loved you,
Are left with memories that will always live on.

We are left with a smile that will continue to shine
a laugh that we will always hear,
We can always share this together
And always keep you near.

You will be forever missed Sam
And forever you will be loved,
Until we meet again honey
Our love we will send to the heaven's above.

First on the structure it felt like the flow went a bit choppy in parts

Second other then that this is a poem with raw true emotions ...

I don't think the rhyming felt forced I thought it was all good choice of words

    A very good piece 5/5

Nice work, I could really feel the pain and sorrow in this poem, and you did an amazing job writing it. Here's my favorite part:

"Everyone came up to see you
You lied peacefully in your bed,
Trying to hide our tear's from you,
Trying to understand it in our heads."

It flowed beautifully and just stuck out to me. Good job and keep up the great work!
