One True Love

by Meena Krish   Sep 5, 2009

I will break free from this sphere
and will not give into my fears
as long as you are in my life
together we will defeat strife

Every bleak moment you replace
with thoughtful words to embrace
those years of trials and tribulations
tied us with a strong connection

Days of depression are no more
for you heal each of my sore
I will not crawl back into that hole
cause you are here healing my soul

Feelings of love flutter in my eyes
where once it used to be ice
you awake a dying woman in me
and now I am the woman I can be

I know I am stubborn and annoying
yet your patience keeps our relation going
you are my one true love to hold,
I pray this bond never grows cold

Based on a quote:
Blessed is the influence of one true, loving human soul on another by George Eliot

    Beautiful poem
it has words that catch our eyes
and a purpose that everyone prays happens to them.

    Beautiful poem :) Great job on the quote challenge. The one true love comes very rarely hold on to that very tightly if it has come your way;
    Excellent!

Beautifully written, Meena and so full of hope for a shared future. I feel this is what all people strive for, a love to have and to hold, for better or for worse:)

    Well done, sweet lady:)

What a great write, and so tied to the quote.
Love is stubborn and refuses to let go. Pride and fear are it's destroyers.

I see heart and optimism in this. A range of emotions that always make a poem good.

How appropriate that you posted this today and I had the good fortune to read it to remind me of the one true love I have and the fears that come with that love. Well done.
