Prison of mine

by Hollow Dreamer   Mar 6, 2017

Coke scales and Marijuana Scholars.
Webs of melancholic tunes fill the air,
As blood stains and liquor spills cover
The block. "Wont live to see 21 the mentality
Of lost juveniles.

Late nights as the rain descends, Gazing into the
Eyes of a man about to take his last breath before
You pull the trigger. We ask "what's the meaning of
Life? As we stare into the abyss of Purgatory.
Labeled a thug by society so we take it and hustle
Slang white to Fiends, using murder as power the tools
Of man.

Heaven or Hell, convicted killers to prophets,
The power of a dollar to smoking blunts with
The devil. Embracing death in our sleep only
Find ourselves in everlasting turmoil, A never
Ending fate the chains of sin.

Child is to grow as man is to die.
Society is divided as justice is black
and white,
We hunt and kill the same as animals prey on
The weak.
When asked the concept of Demons Ill respond
Humans are the embodiment of it, For Hells a vision
In the mind and this is my prison.

Forever Lost

Like Andrea said, this is a very powerful write!
Your words are sharp and full of a very somber truth...carrying a heavy feeling of desolation throughout. A strong first write from you here...welcome to the site!

I have a daughter who has an alcohol and drug addiction. This poem put me into tears, I thank you for sharing this poem....

On the poetic side, I really appreciate the power of your words and how you pieced this darkness together. This is a truly, powerful and explosive poem.
