The Glimmer in Your Eyes

by Mortal Utopia   Jun 1, 2017

You know,
in your eyes,
I can see all the Hope in the world -
as a reflected light
glimmering
like a lonely firefly.

I love the imagery in this. Because you can see the perspective of the writer. It seems like you are looking into your lives eyes (or maybe a friend ) and you can see their eyes light up. But you leave the reader imaging why.

One can only guess. I love the middle line because it seems to bring the whole poem together at least for me. You can see the hope in their eyes and in that it seems to bring you joy. I think that is what emotion you were going for here. But even the last line has some hope. Because its ironic, that even though fireflies seem lonely they light up a persons world. Excellent write! Wish i could nominate
