"GRIT"

This is not something you wish to chew.
It's the thing that hides inside,
The thing that makes you want to try,
When others wish to hide.

When others slumber in their beds,
You chose to rise this day.
Let them wonder what could be
For you chose another way.

No one said it would be easy !
Never pretended it was a game,
We never said it's in the bag,
And that you would aquire fame.

Yet you rose and gave your all,
Your muscles screaming in protest.
First or last second or third
At least you did your best.

      Incidentally I gained something at the paddle sport event too.

      It's called sunburn. And it bloody stings lol

      How many times do I tell the kids to use sun cream? Duh I'm an idiot. I look like a fish stick.

      I'll temporally change my profile photo so you can all have a giggle at my expense.

      And so sorry about the sunburn!! I know that awful feeling all to well haha I'm too pale for my own good. Lotion and some Aloe Vera if you can, and drink lots of water!! :)

    My little team of 6 paddle loonies did rather well in various events at north west finals

    10 gold
    6 silver
    2 bronze

    London and national finals here we come.
