Trouble.

by Kitty Cat Lady   Dec 5, 2017

I warned you I'd be trouble
You knew it from the start
I told you not to go there
I said I'd break your heart

I warned you not to change me
Don't lock me in your cage
The pretty things don't mean a thing
That isn't what I crave

I loved you for who you are
I thought you felt the same
But you wanted your own version
Something much more tame

And now look at the mess we've made
The fight for freedom costly
The irony of your ownership
Is that you just went and lost me.

Miss Kitty, so true! People always think they can change another to their liking. It never works, I have been there, done that. Well done with this.
