A funky donkey

A funky donkey

I can walk, talk, don’t gawk, my accent comes from New York!
Care for a ride, I have a new type of power glide. I love to spring it on those uppity types, when I lean on the edge, what they see, makes them scream. The Guide yells; Stop! That caught many unaware, it seems that some had to change their underwear.

A new rider I have today, a pretty young Lass, speaking to herself out loud about a handsome paramour from some distant shore. I usually don’t say much to humans because I consider them a little dumb, but my big heart overruled, and my deep baritone blare gave her quite a scare.

She blurted out; donkeys can’t talk! I laughingly replied; my lovely damsel, is anything too hard for God, and, by the way, it’s not the first time that a donkey had something to say!

Her pride was a little ripped; and, she quipped; oh, this is just great, advice from an ass about a wishful date. I asked, from what country has your heartthrob come from? She annoyingly replied; France, I fell for him with one glance, I overheard him say that he would be at a special dance on this day.

I said to her; go to that dance, walk by him, in passing say; bonsoir, your beauty will cast a spell upon him, a lasting relationship will begin.

Getting bored, I’m hooked up to a fancy carriage at an uppity New York Hotel, waiting for the Bride and Groom to join me for a ride in Central Park, beneath a large yellow moon. Some say that it’s a dog’s life, I beg your pardon, I’m now happily retired, I have my own rose garden, and, at times, I get to talk to a Vet.

Nice poem, not what I expected, it surprised me that you wrote it from the point of view of the donkey. The rhymes are nice, like a children's storybook. *Thumbs up*

Having arrived home yesterday after visiting Rhodes this grabbed my attention.

Every single year I go there I take a boat trip to lindos. For those not familiar with the town "it's gorgeous".

However it's a rather steep climb from the shore to the town. Many tourists opt for a donkey ride.

    It always makes me angry.

There are massive people sitting on the backs of little donkeys.

I suppose this lightened my thoughts on it a little.

What you wrote also made me smile.

    Regards

Hey Craig, Rhodes is very beautiful from the photos that I have viewed. One area with a large hill on the left side, and, the beach area below reminded me of when my wife and I visited Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angles. The difference is that we spared the little donkey's, and, rode off road Trikes to the top. Glad that my poem lifted your spirits, thanks for the Nomination!
