Spoils

by D.   Apr 18, 2019

The moment
you stop visualising
women as
sealed envelopes,

as leftovers sat upon
the buffet table,

you may even be
beckoned to warm
your hands at the
fire.

Know,

you are not a wolf,
she is not some timid doe

who will permit you a home
of her snaffled
bones;

you are not the shore
and she is not the coming sea.

She will not rise to lap so
gently upon your
feet.

Many a blind wolf goes hungry. Shame he missed 'doe' being listed on the special board.
