Unpretty

by Heather M Craig   Mar 20, 2005

An overweight girl taught by all,
scales are judgement of beauty,
eating to supress the pain inside,
scales vindicated her unpretty.

Ripped down by harsh words,
tore the allure straight from her chest.
Tears that fall from the hope of her eyes,
she'll never be the touch of the best.

Thin girl with aspirations of ballet,
taught she must stay thin for trial.
The mirror gave her false image,
even the most beautiful lose their smile.

Starved herself to fit the dream,
but anorexia took her to the biggest fall,
she'll never conquer her aspirations now,
to fit the image, she forced it to the halt.

Soceity damaged youth of world
gave false ideas of what is beauty.
Scarred of her life....nothing is she
just an average girl left unpretty....

-Beauty is often measured by your body frame, size of your chest, the color of your hair or eyes, etc. but I would be proud to prove society wrong...the heart is the most beautiful feature of every walking person...whether or not you acknowledge it is up to you...."My father is God, He only creates beauty."

My sweet Heather, you truly said it all and so much truth. Why society is like this I don't know. I always want the people I know to have a loving and caring heart like you. Then you have all the beauty in the world. Well written and great job. love ya bunches, hugs, *Ann*
