Fear the Truth

by Dark Savior   Mar 21, 2008

She waits for him as she looks into the dresser drawer
She knows all about this and been through it before

He comes home smelling like another
but to her he promised a wedding ring, father, and lover

She had been faithful...up until now
She decided she would break up that Solomon vow

She went out to the bars and slide her ring inside her purse
She wouldn't let it happen again, for it must be her, she must be cursed

she would just make sure that she would hurt him as much as he did her
She knew that the bar was the place to find another, it's a perfect place to lure

She rushed to the bathroom as it all began to sink in
was she going to hell if she committed this sin?

There are only a few people who seem to catch her eye
Her a proper lady, him with tattoo's being the bad guy

Before she knew, she was sitting on the bed, where her non husband laid his head
what had she done? she felt dirty and it was only her lustful desire she had fed

As she walked in from a night out on the town
Her husband was worried, greeted her with a frown

She went up the stairs and straight to bed
she seen it in his eyes, no words could be said

when she awoke the next morning she was surprised to see
A surprise birthday party that was planned by him, for her to be

She hugged her friend and knew the smell, oh so well
it's the smell she could remember off him, oh it did dwell

Her best friend told her, how her husband had taken so much of his time
To plan everything and that he didn't spare any expense, not even a dime

He was no where to be found, no where in sight
for she had broken their family, on that unfaithful night

Very nice. I like how it turns out that the husband wasn't really cheating. You would think, though, that she would remember which perfume her friends uses. I was reading it, and when I reached the ending, I laughed a little inside, not because it was funny, persay, but because it just figured that she would have gone out and slept with another man just because she thought her husband was doing the same thing. It was a twisted case of irony at work. I loved the flow of it, and the rhymes were good as well. 5/5
