Lifelong

by Krathia   Mar 24, 2008

Dreams fly by, everyday
As time ticks itself away
Melt into the shadows
Of lives gone astray

Lean into a crimson abyss
Tip backwards into sinful bliss
Chained and shackled
By a venomous kiss

Spiraling death, flying fast
Black darkness of the past
This tomorrow
Will never last

Nightmare demons with wings of night
Darkening lives with their flight
Innocence fears
The absence of light

Hopeful heroes and souls of the pure
Battling what they cannot endure
What they hear
Is evil’s lure

Sail upon a sea so blue
Escape what you have to do
A shimmering tear
For a reality untrue

Fly into a world unknown
High in the mountains, chilled to the bone
Unable to be
Any more alone

Captured freedom, limitless sky
Beauty in an unblinking eye
Can you see
The trees waving goodbye?

Let the world cry in the rain
Flee from all that drives you insane
Give release
To all of your pain
