Time Passages.

by Steven Beesley   Aug 19, 2008

The passages of time
have ravished the once
sweet memories from
my mind, for they are gone.

Only fleeting images come
to me like old pictures from a
scrap book, pasted in no
logical order and making no sense.

How cruel life is to rob
me of my most prized and
cherished possessions, so
quietly and without any mercy,

The lights grow dim but in
the stark reality it is my
eyes that are failing and
there be no recovery.

Friends around me are
dropping like flies, with
tomorrows morn just
how many will there be?

Take heed, take stock of
your youth and use it as
best as you can, for tomorrow
is a reality that you really do
not want to see...

This is such a powerful and heartfelt piece you have penned.

    The passages of time
    have ravished the once
    sweet memories from
my mind, for they are gone.

    Only fleeting images come
to me like old pictures from a
    scrap book, pasted in no
logical order and making no sense.

When we are younger we feel life goes on forever. We live doing what makes us happy at the momemet without thoughts of tomorrow. Never thinking how fast things can be taken from us. Blink your eyes and it is gone. Makes you wonder where those good times went. You have the silent memories. Sometimes it is more sad to think of them.

    Friends around me are
    dropping like flies, with
    tomorrows morn just
    how many will there be?

The reality of getting older and losing people you love that you have never imagned life without. How heart breaking.

    Take heed, take stock of
your youth and use it as
best as you can, for tomorrow
is a reality that you really do
    not want to see...

Looking now at the younger generation it is sad to think what lays ahead for them.
    Excellent job!
    Love and hugs
